Anona Organic Clothing is one of the few Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified clothing brands in Nepal established in 2019 by Sailesh Pandey. Inspired by his father’s eco-conscious beliefs regarding clothing production, Sailesh started Anona as a clothing line exclusively retailing organic-based clothing at the age of 19.

The company is established to integrate the notion of eco-awareness rising among our youth in their fashion choices. We believe that fashion should be sustainable and ethical. It’s time that we become aware of how our clothes are being manufactured and the impact of our fashion consumption. 

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) defines worldwide recognised requirements for organic textiles. From the harvesting of the raw materials to manufacturing and labelling, textiles certified to GOTS provide a credible assurance to the consumer that the entire process is carried out with low impact to the environment and in a socially responsible manner. 

Our fabrics are made from GOTS certified organic cotton. Organic Cotton is grown and later processed for fabric using methods that put a lower impact on the environment than conventionally grown cotton. No harmful chemicals are used in the plants. We also use low impact dyes on our clothes. Such dyes require less rinsing and have a high absorption rate in fabric.

Our clothes are made of premium quality fabrics that are long-lasting, comfortable and healthy for the skin. We believe in quality rather than quantity. It’s more sustainable to own 1 piece of cloth that’ll last for more than 5 years than owning 5 pieces that would barely last a year each. And also, the former single piece of cloth is not only long-lasting but also versatile and stylish to provide you maximum utility. We need to be more eco-conscious about our fashion choices now. 

Similarly, we operate ethically and in a socially responsible manner. We ensure that our employees have a better working environment where they are trained, respected and paid fair wages. Our employment empowers, nurtures and protects these people from unsafe working conditions and toxic chemical exposure.
